Aim of the event:
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) und Produktdatenmanagement (PDM) provide capabilities for product design. This course provides examples how to use these types of information systems and their application for solving technical problems. Therefore, impact factors and resulting requirements are reflected focusing the effective use of the technology. Exercises are supported by using a state-of-the-art CAD system.

- Product design with regard to CAD and PDM
- CA technologies and interfaces in product design
- Basics of Product Data Management (PDM)
- Evaluation of CAD-Systems
- Implementation and adaptation of CAD-Systems
- Internal data structures and 3D kernels
- Classification of 3D-Models
- CAD data organisation
- Virtual Prototyping / Virtual Reality
