Comment: This course which is especially designed for students of the Master of Education puts special emphasis on English linguistics in the classroom. More particularly, problems will be addressed that German non-natives have when learning English. The main aim is to make clear the connections between linguistic theory and actual language use. One example is how the rule of allomorphy of the plural relates to the pronunciation of various words. Apart from phonetic and morphologic problems, theoretical aspects in grammar and lexis will also be considered.
