Requirements and recommendations:
Basics for the lecture is good knowledge in physics, as it is taught in the lectures of mechanical engineering basic studies.
Aim of the event:
Objectives of the lecture are an introduction in the properties of light, the human perception and some characteristic applications e.g. illumination in transport and theatre. Following the introduction in the human eye information processing, an introduction to the fundamental terms of lighting. The perception of brightness, colour, space and motion is also dealt with. Then basics of light generation and photometry are taught. Additional an overview is given about the current trends in automobile lighting e.g. Adaptive Frontlighting Systems.
Target group:
The lecture is focused on students from mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, techno mathematics, information science in engineering, physics and from informatics.
