Requirements and recommendations:
Basics of polymer processing
Aim of the event:
Extrusion facilities are used for the manufacturing of semi-finished products made of thermoplastic polymers. The aim of this lecture is to explain the basic configuration of different extrusion facilities and the design of their main components. Furthermore the procedure of development and cost account is presented. As a possible manufacturer or operator of extruion facilities the students should have a deepend knowledge about this processing technique in order to master the development of new facilities using adequate technology as well as an efficient time- and cost planning.
Target group:
Students with the following subjects: mechanical engineering with focus on plastics technology
Contents:
1. Introduction 2. Configuration of extrusion facilities 2. Blow film extrusion 2.2 Flat film extrusion 2.3 Pipe- and sheetextrusion 2.4 Filament extrusion 3.
