Aim of the event:
Target of the practical course is the realisation of basic experiments collateral to lecture Materials Science. Structured experimental work gives the students an overview about the most important techniques in experience and theory.

Target group:
Students in mechanical engineering, techno mathematics, physics and informatics

Contents:
- Introduction
- Material selection and material parameters
- Material selection and corrosion
- Adjustment of material parameters by heat treatment
- Hardening of aluminium base alloys
- Heat treatment of steels
- Examinations of anisotropies in respect of the strength behaviour of the structural part
- Design of the structural part figure in respect of the casting technology
- Design of the structural part figure of polymers by means of connection failure
- Conception of the structural part figure by means of crash
- Transfer of operational loadings to standardised dynamic tests
- scanning electron microscopy
- Non-destructive tests to evaluation of the connection

Comment:
The laboratories are on thuesday, wednesday and thursday between 1:15 pm and 7:15 pm. Laboratory 13 has different times and an additional date on a monday. One single laboratory take 1,5 hours long, so it is possible to visit several laboratories one after another.

Important notes:
A necessary registration for single laboratories starts in first semester week through koaLA-System.
7 of 14 laboratories have to be completed.
