Aim of the event:
The lecture gives an view into the product development process/ product innovation of mechanical engineering and related industries like the automotive. It extends from the product-/ business idea until the successful market entry and includes the functional areas of the strategic product planning, product development and the production-system development (production planning, work planning). Primarily, mechatronic products are considered - thus products, that are based on the interaction of mechanics, electronics, control engineering and software engineering. The focus is an introduction to the development methodologies of classical mechanical engineering, electronics and software engineering as well as in the design of mechatronic systems.

The listeners are familiar with the methodology of product development. They are able to participate in the planning and development, of products for the markets of tomorrow.

Target group:
Students of these study fields: mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, information science in engineering and informatics (subsidiary subject mechanical engineering)
