Aim of the event:
Nanotechnology deals with objects with sizes of 1 - 100 nm. Having objects with this size effects occur which can´t be observed in the macroscopic world. Merely the decrease of size has crucial impact on the physical properties of these objects. Phenomena of this type will be shown in this lecture. Furthermore methods will be presented, how nanometre structures can be manufactured precisely and which methods are available to measure and analyse these structures. At last prominent examples shall show that nanotechnology already exist in many fields of our daily life and in which situations new aspects of safety technology are needed.
