Fantastic literature has regained a lot of interest in recent years; it may be called one of the few genres that young people are still interested in reading. Add the fact that the coming generation of English teachers has grown up with Harry Potter and you have sufficient reason to spend a term reading and discussing fantasy literature and their potential for the ESL classroom. Participants are expected to buy and read two novels. Further materials will be added over the course of the semester.

Literature:
J K Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Bram Stoker, Dracula
