Comment:
This seminar offers students a broad introduction to the world of the Middle Ages in England. The analysis of literary texts will alternate with the discussion of cultural contexts such as religion, architecture and the arts. From the anonymous voices of Old English literature to Geoffrey Chaucer and from the Bayeux Tapestry to Canterbury Cathedral the seminar will investigate the vast and colourful culture of the period from ca. 500 to 1500.
Please note: this seminar will include a one-day excursion to Soest.
