Aim of the event:
The course provides an overview on the basics of avoiding failures in technical products and structures, that may arise from service loadings.

Target group:
Students of mechanical and industrial engineering, information science in engineering and techno mathematics

  • Basics of strength optimised and failure safe design
  • Stress distribution near notches and cracks
  • Optimal design of notched structures
  • Concepts of fracture mechanics
  • Prediction of lifetime of structures and components
