Course offering details

Instructors: Prof. Dr. Ansgar Trächtler

Event type: Lecture

Org-unit: Maschinenbau

Displayed in timetable as: Mechatronik

Hours per week: 3

Language of instruction: German

Min. | Max. participants: - | -

Requirements and recommendations:
Requirements for the course are basic knowledge in mathematics and mechanics, as you are obtained in the lectures of the mechanical engineering basic study.

Aim of the event:
Aim of the mechatronics is to support product developments at the interface between mechanics and electrical engineering. Numerous new systems and products have been already developed through very close spatial and functional linkage of mechanical, electronic and information-processing components, e.g. CD player, video camera, electronic motor control unit, antilock braking systems and many more. These convincing innovative solutions were shaped not through the emphasis on the constructive details, but through the consistent selection of the solutions from functional point of view. In this lecture the structure and methods for the development of mechatronic systems are dealt with. Thereby, the transformation of the system functions in mental and mathematical models as well as the simulation and optimisation of the system behaviour is of particular importance.

Target group:
The course is addressed to the students of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, techno mathematics, information science in engineering, physics and informatics.

Contents:
1. Introduction into Mechatronics
2. Design Method for Mechatronic Systems
3. Modelling of the physical structure and the dynamical behaviour of mechatronic systems
4. Analysis of the dynamical behaviour
5. System design (synthesis)
6. Basics of digital signal processing
7. Components of mechatronic systems

Until further notice this meeting is accomplished together with the lecture €œPrinciples of Mechatronics€ of the bachelor course, because substantial contents are identical in both lectures. Special contents are discussed in separate tutorials.

Contact person:
Dipl.-Ing. Felix Oestersoetebier

Literature:
A literature list and a exercise material will be distributed.

Supplementary events:
Control Engineering, Modelling in Mechatronics, Advanced Control Engineering, Technical dynamics, Project tutorial mechatronic, Functions und construction materials, Lighting
