Comment:
This lecture provides you with a survey in English Linguistics on an advanced level. Based on selected readings, you will be introduced to relevant concepts, theories and models. This lecture also focuses on topics that are of interest to candidates preparing for their written Staatsexamenklausur. The following branches/areas will be covered (among others): Phonetics and phonology, syntax, morphology, word-formation, semantics, the history of the English language, pragmatics.
More detailed information as to the schedule and the requirements of this course will be given at the beginning of the term.

If you are in your Hauptstudium and want to take this course as a Hauptseminar, you can only get a TN (Staatsexamen) or 3 LP (MA Linguistik).
Please note that this course is not open for students studying for Staatsexamen in the GRUNDSTUDIUM!
