Requirements and recommendations:
This seminar will introduce some basic methods and strategies that are important for linguistic study. It will cover several aspects of academic research, including:
• developing a research idea
• finding, reading and understanding the background literature
• finding and/or collecting data
• analyzing data
• presenting and/or writing up your results.
Students will be expected to practically apply the concepts learned by doing a final "mini-project" during the semester.
