Comment:
This course introduces students to some of the seminal texts in modern American drama. We will explore Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, and David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross. We will discuss individual scenes and contemporary productions of these plays as well as the original cultural context. One obligatory element of this class is seeing the Theater Bielefeld's production of Death of a Salesman.
