Requirements and recommendations:
Heat and Mass Transfer
Aim of the event:
To reduce energy and high grade material the development of heat exchanger, which use higher efficient methods than usual, can give valueable contributions. Heat transfer with phase change is especially useful. In the lecture selected methods will be presented from physical fundamentals to practical construction of the apparatus. In this excercise, which in accord can be hold as project seminar, the students should active design a concrete example from the conceptual formulation to its integration in the whole plant.
Target group:
Students of mechanical and chemical engineering and plastics technology further production technics and product development.
Contents:
Design of the heat exchanger for a given application
- Definition of the conceptual formulation
- Characterisation of the whole plant
- Identification of the requirements to the apparatus
- Contemplable types and evaluation for the given problem
- Calculation of the layout
- Benfits and disadvantage of alternatives
