Aim of the event:
The lecture enables the student to apply lightweight principles to specific problems in lightweight construction. It is recognized that lightweight construction requires a consideration of all relevant areas like construction, materials and manufacturing processes simultaneously.
Contents:
In this lecture different aspects of lightweight construction will be addressed:
• Load transmission problems; load paths
• Stability problems:
• Compression-loaded beams with pre-deformations
• Beams on elastic foundations, sandwich wrinkling
• Lateral torsional buckling
• Lateral buckling
• Buckling of plates, circular cylinder shells
