Requirements and recommendations:
No issue-related knowledge required
Aim of the event:
An extensive overview on the production process “Adhesive bonding” is given. The lecture imparts knowledge on the basics of adhesion and cohesion, the different chemical structures of adhesives and their characteristics. The demand for a special joint design and methods of construction calculations will be discussed as well as the effect of a change in process parameters on the mechanical properties of adhesive bonded joints. This will be also expanded to the combination of adhesive bonding and mechanical joining.
Target group:
Students of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering
Contents:
- Coordination and classification of the production process “Adhesive bonding”, Technical terms
- Chemical structures and delivery forms of adhesives
