Course offering details

Instructors: Rainer Botzeck; Dr. Tobias Hemsel

Event type: Lecture

Org-unit: Maschinenbau

Displayed in timetable as: MT

Hours per week: 3

Language of instruction: German

Min. | Max. participants: - | -

Requirements and recommendations:
Basic knowledge in mathematics, mechanical and electrical engineering are required as they are obtained in the basic studies of mechanical engineering.

Aim of the event:
The lecture gives an overview of those fields of measuring techniques which are important for engineering. Students will learn basic methods for the determination of measured values, starting from fundamental ideas of system engineering. Apart from the characterisation of measurands and signals, measuring deviations and their reproduction are discussed. On the basis of selected examples, some of the most important sensor principles and their technical implementations are presented. Students will be enabled to solve simple measuring tasks systematically.

Target group:
This course is addressed to students, who study mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, technical mathematics, engineer computer science, physics and computer science.
