Aim of the event:
Technical skills: The goal is to prepare the students for the task of solving new and complex problems, which they will encounter in their professional career. While being taught detailed knowledge on several subjects during the course of studies many students lack the experience of a structured approach on coherent problems. Interdisciplinary projects for students of higher grades with practice oriented topics are to create a better understanding.

Key skills:

    Because of the varying topics the students will learn to solve new problems from areas that were only peripherally touched during their course of studies.
    Communication and team skills
    Project management
    Presentation and moderation skills
    Use of modern information technology
    Interdisciplinary engineering and scientific work

Target group:
Students of:
- mechanical engineering
- industrial engineering and management
- computer science and engineering
- Studium generale in various other studies

Contents:
The seminar intends to bridge studies and practical examples where students experience new and complex problems. Interdisciplinary project are defined for experienced students to deal with varying tasks and examples from practice. The seminar explicitly focuses on soft skills.

Students approach their projects in interdisciplinary groups. The ypresent intermediary or final results in groups of experts and have to defend their theses. The goal is to strengthen skills like presentation, communication, moderation and negotiations.
