Aim of the event:
Extension of German language skills by
- language teaching with the emphasis on "Technical German"
- active language training by individual presentations
- job application training with a view to mandatory internships
- writing of German-speaking documents with technical matters.
Target group:
Foreign students in mechanical engineering e.g. students from CDTF
Contents:
1. German language in the daily routine of a university:
study conditions, examination regulations, procedures for the mandatory internship in mechanical engineering;
Introduction to subjects of scientific work: structuring topics, investigating, preparing and presenting papers.
writing an application with a view to the mandatory internships in German companies: job-seeking, written application, interview for an internship, report on the internship.
2. Technical German
technical terminology in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics.
application of DUO Deutsch Uni Online, an internet bases German language course with lessons in "engineering" or "natural science".
3. Study trips to regional companies or visiting of regional trade fairs. Documentation of the results.
