Basic knowledge in engineering mechanics
Aim of the event:
Biomechanics is the application of mechanical principles on biological systems, biological tissues and medical problems.
The course provides basic knowledge of the kinematics and the loading of the human musculoskeletal system.
Contents:
1 Kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies for the description of movements
2 Statics and kinematics of the human musculoskeletal system
3 Mechanical properties of the passive human musculoskeletal system
4 Relations between shape or structure and the mechanical function of the human musculoskeletal system
5 Presentation of the potentialities of biomechanics for the design and optimisation of implants and prostheses
