In order to attend this course, you MUST habe passed the Introduction to Linguistics.

Kommentar:
In our daily life we encounter words with new meanings, words in different forms, words that were formed in other languages or even form new words ourselves - all of these aspects will be dealt with in this class. We will explore different types of word formation and discuss how to classify and analyse words and their building blocks in general. The focus of this class will not only lie on established texts and theories in the area of morphology and word formation but we will also apply theoretical aspects to data and critically examine existing theories.

Please note that physical attendance is necessary in the first session, so we can determine the demand. Any spots on the course that are not taken will be given to other students.
