In order to attend this course, you MUST habe passed the Introduction to Linguistics.

Kommentar:
This seminar takes a closer look at syntax and syntactic structures as introduced in the introductory course. Adding to that, we will consider different theoretical approaches to syntax and explore more complex syntactic structures (subordinate clauses) as well as some of the most frequent syntactic strategies (e.g. clefting or extraposition).

As this course is part of the module "Methodische Grundlagen", it will also contain general academic skills beyond the scope of this specific seminar, including basic and advanced searches for literature, the OED, corpora, time management, and forms of citation.

Please note that physical attendance is necessary in the first session, so we can determine the demand. Any spots on the course that are not taken will be given to other students.
