Kommentar:
In this seminar, which is located in the B.A. programme, we will take a closer look at English morphology and word formation, i.e. the internal structure of words, their different inflectional forms (e.g. cook – cooks – cooking – cooked), as well as the creation of new words built on the basis of other words (e.g. compounding or suffixation). The aim of the course is to enable students to analyse complex words.

As this course is part of the module “Methodische Grundlagen”, it will also contain certain general academic skills beyond the scope of this specific seminar, including basic and advanced search for literature, the OED, corpora, time management, and form of citation.

Attendance at the first session is mandatory.
