Kommentar:
In diesem Seminar wollen wir uns dem mit bekanntesten Werk der US-amerikanischen Philosophin und Biologin Donna Haraway beschäftigen: Dem Cyborg-Manifest. Mittels des Cyborg-Manifestes schrieb Haraway in den 1985 eine Schrift, um mittels moderner und sich stetig entwickelnder Technologie und naturwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen, den veralteten Strukturen der Geschlechterbinarität den Kampf anzusagen.

Im Zuge dieses Seminars werden wir das Manifest und ergänzende Sekundärliteratur gemeinsam lesen und analysieren, um zu schauen ob das Cyborg-Manifest die Basis bietet den bisherigen Menschheitsbegriff grundlegend zu reformieren. Folgende Aspekte sollen hierbei u.A. debattiert werden:
- Was ist das Cyborgmanifest?
- Welche Forderungen gehen damit einher und an wen richten sich diese?
- Hat das Cyborgmanifest noch heute bestand?
- Gibt es Möglichkeiten das Cyborgmanifest heute anzuwenden?
- Ist der bisher gültige und verwendete Menschheitsbegriff des überhaupt noch anwendbar und müsste er nicht längst ersetzt werden?
Dieses Seminar richtet sich an interessierte Studierende, die auch die Bereitschaft mitbringen sollten sich mit schwierigen Sachverhalten um Technologie, Informatik, Philosophie und Geschlechtertheorie zu befassen.
Die Bereitschaft englischsprachige Texte zu lesen wird vorausgesetzt!
