Kommentar: The working language of this seminar is English. Your English does not need to be flawless, though. Eagerness to take active part in the discussion is valued more than language proficiency. Migration is one of the most striking challenges for societies around the world and an issue of the greatest political relevance. The public debate around this question gives an impression, as though we have only been facing it since the peak of the current refugee situation in 2015. However, migration as a phenomenon is present throughout the entire human history and, hence, has been an issue of philosophical and ethical interest in past centuries. This seminar focuses on the current philosophical migration debate, but it also reaches back to the origins and pivotal points of philosophical engagement with migration.
