Kommentar: The digital revolution seems to be the most important development in human history since the industrialization. Today, there is no aspect in public life which is not somehow influenced by the digital world. However, current theological debates are not or just barely aware of these major tranformations of human life. Even though they seem to have enormous impact on the common anthropology and thus on the understanding of man in his relation to God. The class will adress these issues and focus on wider topics such as ‚Big Data‘ and ‚Transhumanism‘ as well as on mundane influences of the digital world on our everyday behaviour (if these aspects can be seperated at all). The leading question is: How can theology react on these life-changing evolutions and how must our thinking be transformed to adequately do so? The class (including all literature) will be given in English.
