Kommentar:
Die moderne Technik hat den Menschen erstmals in die Lage versetzt, seine eigene Gattung auszulöschen. Die moderne Technik birgt gerade in ihrem aktuellen Erfolg bei der Verbesserung der Lebensumstände heute lebender Menschen die Gefahr, über irreversible Veränderungen der Umwelt, die Lebensbedingungen zukünftiger Generationen zu beeinträchtigen. Dieser Situation hat die Ethik Rechnung zu tragen, sie muss das Wohl zukünftiger Generationen berücksichtigen, sie muss Zukunftsethik werden. Einen sehr einflussreichen Ansatz zu einer solchen Zukunftsethik hat Hans Jonas 1979 mit seinem Werk Das Prinzip Verantwortung vorgelegt. Das Seminar wird sich kritisch mit diesem Text beschäftigen. Es ist als Lektüreseminar angelegt.
