Kommentar:
Martin Scorsese’s films (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Age of Innocence, etc.) have become modern classics, offering rich material to students of American culture. Scorsese explores the significance of ethnicity and class, the history of the American city, and the relationships between entertainment and corruption, violence and masculinity.One central element of this class is a study day spent at the Museum for Film and Television, Deutsche Kinemathek, Berlin. Therefore, participants should be ready and willing to travel to Berlin on May 9-10, 2013.
