Kommentar:
Joan Didion, a journalist, novelist, and screenwriter, ranks as one of the most important voices of contemporary American writing, admired largely for her observational genius, her impeccable style, and her extremely fine sensitivity. In her career she has covered the California counter culture of the late 1960s, Hollywood, the war in El Salvador, politics in Washington, and, movingly, the year following her husband's death. We will explore Didion's work and, wherever possible, draw connections to the issues in American culture her pieces address.
