Kommentar: For Hannah Arendt with her focus on political thought, education was not a secondary issue. Not only has she devoted two of her essays to problems of education, but also included many thoughtful remarks on this subject in her other works. The notions of authority, thought and thoughtlessness, natality and plurality, as well as the world, lead us to classify education among key problems of her political philosophy. In this seminar we will analyse the role of children as future agents within the public space, focusing on the problems of thinking and judgment as the basis for responsible political acting. The working language in the seminar is English.
