Kommentar:
The aim of this course is language consolidation, particularly with respect to the skills required for text production in English. On one level, the course will concern itself with the language skills that are input to any text. At another level, it will focus on the kind of functional, communicative structure that might be assigned to an essay of explicit and substantiated argument, as well as a basic inventory of logical link words suitable for textual cohesion. Finally, attention will also be paid to the identification of the source of error in productive work, plus error avoidance strategies.

For the first session, students are asked to read Introduction to the Paragraph and complete exercises 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5,
2-8, 2-10, 2-11, and 2-12.
